National Simultaneous Storytime 2026

Join local author Narelle Wynter, along with the teams from Mindarie Rotary and Paint the Town REaD, for a special National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) celebration.

This year’s featured story is Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller — an energetic underdog tale that sees Luna Roo discover her inner strength on the field. Come along and cheer her on as we share this uplifting story together.

National Simultaneous Storytime is one of Australia’s most loved annual reading events, bringing together millions of children, families, libraries, schools, early learning centres and community spaces to read the same story at the same time, right across the country.

NSS 2026 takes place on 27 May 2026 at 10:00am and is a joyful celebration of reading, literacy and community.

To make the morning even more fun, families can enjoy free children’s activities and a special visit from Wanda, the much‑loved Paint the Town REaD mascot.
