Meet Tash from Form Training

Tell us about your gym:
Form Training opened November 2018. We are a close-knit community driven Studio. We hold boutique group fitness classes & personal training with all the latest state-of-the-art equipment in the coolest designed studios.

We wanted to create an environment that is welcoming for everybody, and eliminates a lot of the myths and stereotypes that people tend to associate with Gyms and the Fitness Industry, as well as providing a holistic approach to exercise.

We have a number of different classes, ranging from the High-Intensity WERQ, Boxing and Rotation, to the lower impact Pilates, Yoga and ABT.

We also have our Cafe - we've been told we sell the best Almond Lattes North of The River, (just saying!) which is open to both our Tribe and members of the public; stocking all things nutritious, to fuel us post-work out, as well as a couple of Cheat Treats - all homemade or locally sourced too!

Form is definitely a home away from home, everybody knows everybody and we have an incredible Tribe here.

What is your position at Form Training and how big is your team?
I'm the Studio Manager at Form - although resident cheerleader is probably more appropriate.

Across the Gym, Creche & Cafe we have a team of 23 people who all share the mantra 'Good Vibes Only'  everybody brings their own flavour and chips in to play their own vital part to keep Form a great place to work and train.

What are the most popular classes and training styles right now?
Our WERQ class is undoubtedly the most popular at FORM; this is a combination of HIIT style Cardio & Strength training.

In the last 12 months we've introduced our 6 Week Challenges which sees a lot of beginners come into the Studio and join our long-standing Members - needless to say these guys still break a sweat now just as they did when they were newbies!

Each trainer brings something completely different to their class, so no day is ever the same (I'm sure our Boxing and Rotation Instructors slip something extra in their morning coffee...!).

Pilates is also a really popular class at the moment too; our Flow studio was carefully designed with mood lighting so it feels super calm and peaceful for our Yoga and Pilates sessions.

What is the most unusual or funny request you have had from a customer?
Not so much questions or requests, but we hear some colourful adjectives being used to describe our Trainers during and after class! We joked not long ago about re-naming our Cafe "The Angry Scotsman" because we had a few of those after class! It’s definitely a love, hate relationship. More love we like to think!

How long have you been in the fitness industry and what inspired you to pursue this career?
I've been in the fitness industry for almost 10 years, I picked up a part-time job in a gym back in England, and not too long after I started there my dad encountered some pretty heavy health issues. I wanted to help him as best as I could, and the two just went hand in hand. I now help people become healthier every day!

What is the best part about your job?
We have such a wonderful community of staff & members, (our Tribe), and they are easily the best part of the job. Getting to be a part of peoples' journeys both physically and mentally - we've seen so many people completely transform and overcome internal obstacles who are now genuinely happy within themselves, which is the most rewarding thing in the world!

When you’re not at the gym, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I love being active and outdoors, so I'll either be down the beach swimming or off on a random road trip (with next to no preparation) to explore somewhere new in WA! Most recently was a small scenic drive to Bluff Knoll.

What makes Ocean Keys Shopping Centre a great part of the community?
It's a hive. There’s something in there for everyone and it's always buzzing! It's also great to see so many local businesses being supported in such a big Centre.
